Brian has the sad story of our Monday night quest through North Hollywood, Studio City and finally Burbank in search of BBQ. Ribs USA isn't bad, but it's not Texas. Their brisket leaves a lot to be desired -- dry and way too lean on previous visits. The beef ribs Monday night were okay, but not all that meaty. It was an enormous amount of food, though. Four beef ribs, two legs and thighs, potato salad, baked beans and cornbread for $21.99. Lasted me into lunch yesterday. Definitely splittable. The sauce, sweet with a little kick, gets a thumbs up.
You, Texans, don't take what you have for granted. Oh, to have Colter's, Spring Creek, or one of the innumerable Mom and Pop smoke shops found throughout my home state.
Next time, I think Brian and I will go to Zeke's.
