A lot of folks are creeped out by "Lost" character Richard Alpert's failure to age. We saw him with young John Locke in the early to mid 1960s. Following the crash of Oceanic 815 (2004), he appears to have not aged a day. But should this really surprise the American public? By my counting, "Lost" is not Richard Alpert's first appearance on television. In 1959 CBS aired the first episode of "The Twilight Zone," a show created and hosted by a man who claimed his name was Rod Serling.
